After 25 years of dedicated and successful service to Santa Clara County through Kids In Common, Dana Bunnett will be retiring at the end of June. Â
 Â
Dana’s impact has been immeasurable. Her collaborative leadership consistently focused on youth and leading the Children’s Agenda Network. A hallmark of her leadership and impact is the way in which she brought community together to tackle challenges for youth involved in systems while using data to change the conversations and improve systems. Dana led the preparation of the annual Children’s Summit and the release of the annual Data Book bringing agencies, non-profits, and community together to serve our children. The Annual Children’s Summit and the Data Book empowered us all to learn and work together and keep children and youth at the center.Â
 Â
As a result of Dana’s advocacy, the Bill of Rights for Children and Young Adults was established and later renewed with the leadership and voices of young people. She convened networks and committees to focus on the needs of foster youth, justice engaged youth, and more. Dana’s dedicated service ensured that the community kept a focus on children with the goal that every child will be safe, healthy, successful in learning, and thriving in life.Â
 Â
A celebration of Dana's retirement and her impact will be held in September. Joy Murrieta, who has served as Co-Ed since January, will lead KIC as the Executive Director.Â
