Marlene Zapata

Marlene Zapata is a community leader in San Jose with a professional background in philanthropy, government, and nonprofits. Marlene works at the Hewlett Foundation where she supported the Cyber Initiative, a $160M initiative to build a more robust cybersecurity field. She serves as the Chair of the Commission on the Status of Women for Santa Clara County and is a longtime member of the Junior League of San Jose that recognized her with the Dorothy Bogen Farrington Award for her leadership and mentorship.

Marlene believes that Kids in Common’s work helps foster community partnerships that have a lasting positive impact on children and families in Santa Clara County.
