Case Study

Case Study:

In the Spring of 2007, during the County Budget Process, KIC educated County leadership which helped ensure that the negative impact of budget cuts on children and families was minimized. This resulted in the restoration of many vital safety net services such as WIC programs in Gilroy, mental health and drug and alcohol services for uninsured families and families in dependency court.
KIC also played a particularly significant role in the restoration of School Linked Services by demonstrating to County Supervisors how this program could still provide vital intervention and support to children at the schools and significantly lower its cost. The result has been better school attendance rates, better API scores and decreased teen violence.
