2012 Children's Summit

More than 270 people attended the Fifth Annual Children's Summit held on January 27th, 2012.   Summit participants had an opportunity to attend workshops on topics such as results based accountability, the growth mindset, positive school discipline, parent engagement and immigrant health.  For the plenary session,  Judge LaDoris Cordell did an amazing job as emcee. Our keynote speaker, Joanne Weiss from the US Dept. of Education shared the administration's plans for continued school improvement, the Founding Members of the Hub presented a moving spoken word performance and the Bold Steps for Children award was presented to Project Cornerstone.  Ninety-nine percent of those attending the Children's Summit rated it as good or excellent and ninety-four percent agreed that we can improve outcomes for children even in a time of declining resources.
